What is Biometrics

Measurements to determine overall health.

When you are making changes to your physical health through diet and exercise, biometric scans can be a great measurement tool.

While the scale and eye test might be a conventional way of tracking your progress, biometrics looks at several aspects of physical health and gives measurable results to compare along your journey.

What does it measure?

Body Fat - Excessive body fat is directly linked to poor health, measure this against other markers like muscle mass and visceral fat is a more accurate assessment than simply stepping on the scale every morning

Skeletal Muscle - Skeletal muscle may be the most under-valued body system, it is certainly more than just vanity and the appearance of a healthy body. Increased muscle mass has benefits ranging from neurological protection to blood sugar management.

Visceral Fat - This is the fat that accumulates on your organs. Not only does this magnify “belly fat”, it is also considered a dangerous form of fat that contributes to several conditions like liver disease and heart failure.

Resting Metabolism - This is the amount of calories your body burns throughout the day without any added exercise. Meaning if your goal is to burn 2000 calories per day and your resting metabolism is 1200 k/cal per day, you would need to burn 800 calories per day through exercise.
